Welcome to exnat, the blog about expat experiences in Buenos Aires. In November 2005 I arrived with a 30L backpack and a plan to stay 3 days before heading on to Montevideo. A year and half later I have an apartment full of my furniture and am no closer to Uruguay than I was when I arrived. What makes this city so irresistable? What has turned a one night stand with Buenos Aires into a relationship? Why am I happy to have a 9am-6pm job where I stare at a screen all day? What’s it like to learn Spanish through trial and error? Who is the president of Argentina? These are the mysteries I intend to explore in this here blog.

So buckle up. We’re going for a ride…

    I think there’s actually a blog called “Another tango blog”… But I’m not sure if I really am supposed to check out your blog. It says it’s “made for women.” But that’s never stopped me before and it looks really good. Good style. Thanks for reading and keep blogging!

    So, I am intrigued! I also work a job from 9-6 where I stare at a screen, and for some reason am very happy to do so. I am an expat who is in general is usually lost. I am very happy to be not living in my own country, but there is just something about completely recreating your life that no one can understand unless they have indeed done so. I would be very interested to talk with you if you would like. Hope you have a beautiful day today in dreary Buenos Aires.

    I haven’t even seen a single comment from you in any other blog - at least not in the ones I read - and was sorta thinking that you were thinking about giving up the expat life. Well, glad you’re back :)

    Just a note on Molly’s comment: I found it a lot easier being an expat running around in the city for a job than sitting in front of a computer all day (I’ve done both, I may compare) - uh, maybe I should write about that…

    Hi Nate!, I’m producer from Buenos Aires and we’re looking for US & Canadians living in Argentina for a Documentary about “Water as unique resource” to be showed at an International Fair in Spain later this year.

    We’re looking for Males and Women aged 18-65 years old, from USA/Canada living in Buenos Aires area. Don’t need to be an actor, since we’re looking for “real” people (its just sit front of the camera and give thoughts about the Water and its future as a natural resouce based on a brief script and your opinions).
